Is it a Doodle or is it a Poodle? Although red moyen Poodles are often mistaken for a medium-size Goldendoodle, genetically they are purebred Poodles. Moyen size poodles are very rare in the US, since they fall between the common sizes that are bred here (toy, miniature and standard). The moyen size is larger than the miniature poodle, but smaller than the standard poodle. They are a completely non-shedding dog.
We do not give our puppies Poodle cuts. We also do not dock the tail. I feel this is the barometer of what your dog is thinking and feeling and is too important to remove. Of course, you could have it removed at any time, but I would not encourage you to.
Whether Standard or Moyen and either black, white, apricot, or a variety of colors, the Poodle stands proudly among dogdom’s true aristocrats. Beneath the curly, hypoallergenic coat is an elegant athlete and companion for all reasons and seasons.Forget those old stereotypes of Poodles as sissy dogs. Poodles are eager, athletic, and wickedly smart “real dogs” of remarkable versatility. The Standard, with his greater size and strength, is the best all-around athlete of the family, but all Poodles can be trained with great success.
