Puppy Must-Haves

• A loving family!
• Food. We use Purina Pro Plan-Puppy Formula but we strongly recommend using a food with 18% protein after 12 weeks. We like the Purina Pro Plan line (and have seen great coats come from it) but there are lots of great options out there! Please talk to your vet about the specific needs for your puppy and breed. Your puppy will leave with a 2lb. bag of our food for you to incorporate in with the new food for better transition. 
• Training Treats- Our vet recommends Cheerios and they work great and are healthy. However, we love and have had great success with Pure Bites Beef-Liver Freeze Dried Dog Treats. I've never seen a dog respond better than to these!
• Stainless-steel non-tipping food and water bowls
• I.D. Tags with the contact information for yourself and your veterinarian. Although your pup will also come to you microchipped too!
• A wire crate with an adjustable divider in the center so you can grow the crate with your puppy. We like one like this Metal Pet Kennel with Tray
• We also recommend getting a light-weight, breathable cover like this one from Midwest Dog Crate Cover on Amazon.
• Dog shampoo  (I like the hypoallergenic kind).
• Brush and comb– This brush seems to do it all for us!
• Nail clippers.
• Cleanup supplies such as a stain remover, paper towels, deodorizing  and odor neutralizing spray (like Natures Miracle). I wouldn't know what to do without my Bissell Spot Clean Pro. I've used it on the puppies' pee and the the twin's paint spills and all the in-betweens. It's a miracle!!
• Chew Sticks/Toys- Bull Sticks have been the most amazing things ever. They have prevented my dogs from chewing up anything else! Kong is one of my favorite brands for toys. Do not get any rawhide chews.
• If barking becomes an issue (or you'd like to prevent it), we recommend using a beep vibration collar. We have had success with this one.
• Clicker Training is a good idea. Here is a helpful introduction video.

There are many other helpful and fun products available at pet supply stores. Kong is a great brand with lots of helpful toys!
